I have the houer to address you in order respectfully to submit the following representations on the rate at which my pension is paid to me, Subjecting me to a very severe loss, and to ask your Kind Consideration of the Same

I was appointed to the Hongkong Civil service from England in 1868, at Salary of £500 a year when the dollar was worth 4/5.

Subsequently I received an addition of £100 which was converted into dollars. at the rate of 4/2 and Cattly my Salary.

finally increased to $3840.

My pension after 25 years, plus 5,

service has been fixed at $165 per month. which sum is paid to me at the current

rate and therefore represents only about 美17:
